Why does the Noble School need friends?
Lisa and Martina share a similar educational philosophy rooted in a focus on the basics, finding what works, and making the students accountable for the educational goals within their ability. When they came together at a former employer, both had the idea that they could accomplish more without the administrative constraints they were operating under. Lisa had the idea to strike out on her own, invited Martina to come along, and The Noble School was born. From the beginning the focus of the enterprise was to take the kids that were struggling, getting lost in the system, or who needed some extra assistance and put them in a place where they could succeed. With a lot of hard work, and a lean few years at the beginning, they were able to establish themselves as a viable alternative, and in fact the best option for their target population. Through the years, nearly all the Noble School graduates have gone on to achieve much more than they were originally thought to be capable of.
From the beginning, Lisa and Martina grappled with the issue of students who were a great fit for the school and would flourish there, but for whatever reason their families were unable to meet the financial commitments required for private school. In several cases, they made the business decision to discount the tuition and allow the student to attend at a reduced rate. This practice didn’t help the bottom line much, but from day one Lisa and Martina always cared more about the success of their students than making lots of money. As long as they could make ends meet and come out somewhat in the black at the end of the year, that was ok with them. Looking back over the years, Lisa and Martina touched the lives over 20 students by self-funding scholarships and giving them opportunities to reach their potential.
We at the Friends of the Noble School wish to applaud Lisa and Martina, and to let them know that their efforts have not gone unnoticed. By establishing a scholarship fund, we seek to continue to afford opportunities to those deserving but financially unable to pursue them on their own. Lisa and Martina have proven over that last 14 years that they know what they are doing and are considered by many to be the best in their field. They have forged alliances with the best support networks in the area and work to maintain a quality program at all times for the betterment of their students. Your help can ensure the legacy of their goal.
Your tax-deductible contribution to The Friends of the Noble School’s scholarship fund will go directly to support students in need. Kids deserve to have the best chance to succeed that we can provide for them. Please donate and help their dream become a reality.
